Anyone Believe The Predators Will Be In Nashville In Two Years?
With the recent developments around the local investor group, I don’t see us having the predators within two years, if not next year. It’s sad to see that Nashville can not support multilpe professional sports. We’re on the verge of saying so long to the Sounds (AAA baseball) and now on the verge of losing the Predators and having an empty arena sitting on broadway. No doubt this is football country, and hockey was/is a tough sell, but the lack of corporate support has been the most disappointing over the years.
This whole sale deal with the sale of the team really stinks, I hope the league looks into it hard. I grew up in Minnesota and was still there when Norm “Greed” stole the North Stars and took them to Dallas. “Sell out every game this season and the team stays” he said, we did, they didn’t. Sound familiar Nashville?

Can Anyone Challenge Wake Forest?
Can anyone challenge the Wake Forest mens soccer team? That is the question rumbling through the college soccer world right now as Wake puts together one of the most dominant seasons NCAA soccer has seen in years. Wake Forest is not just winning, they are smashing all comers. Currently the Deacons are a whopping perfect 13-0-0 and have scored an amazing 48 goals in those games while only giving up 8. They are 4-0-0 in the powerful ACC with a very impressive 4-2 road win at #4 Maryland in a rainstorm where they fell behind in the opening minute of the match, but rallied back.
Senior forward Marcus Tracy is the clear favorite for the Hermann Trophy as the best player in all of college soccer. So far this year Tracy has recorded 10 goals and 6 assists on the year. Corben Bone leads the nation in assists with 11 while Austin da Luz has 8 ranking him 5th in the NCAA. Goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald has only allowed 6 goals in 13 matches.
This weekend Wake Forest host Duke who are 2-2-1 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. There are a couple of potential potholes on the remaining schedule for #1 Wake Forest and they are the last two regular season games. On November 1st Wake travels to rival #16 North Carolina and follow that up with another road game at #8 Virginia. Virginia has been rolling lately and are also 4-0-0 in ACC play. After that Wake embarks on the ACC Tournament in Cary, North Carolina and then on to the NCAA Tournament with the Final Four at Pizza Hut Park in Dallas, Texas. Can anyone get in the way of the Deacon juggernaut?
