Sunday Night Football Preview: NFL Week 13 Predictions: Cowboys Vs Giants
NFL Football Betting online: The Dallas Cowboys are hoping Tony Romo can solve his late-season woes as they try to take a major step toward the NFC East title.
The fading New York Giants are hopeful that Eli Manning’s right foot problem won’t hamper him in a game they desperately need.
The Cowboys make their final visit to Giants Stadium on Sunday when they try to avenge an earlier loss to New York, which needs a win to keep any realistic hopes of winning the division alive.
Cowboys Vs Giants Sunday Night NFL Football Preview
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbetting.com have made the Cowboys -1 point spread favorites (View NFL odds) for Sunday’s game (Game Matchup). Current public betting information shows that 70% of bets for this game have been placed on the Cowboys -1
Dallas (8-3) leads Philadelphia by one game and New York by two in the East as it tries to erase the memories of past poor finishes. The Cowboys are 5-10 the previous three seasons after November, including two playoff losses.
Romo is a big reason for those woes with 16 touchdowns, 20 interceptions and a 58.2 completion percentage in those games. He has 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season.
“We don’t look at other seasons,” Romo said. “This is this season – it is brand new football team. Nothing that happened in 1999 or 2004 or 2008 has any bearing on what is going to happen this December. We feel as though we are just going to keep getting better each day we are out here.”
While the Cowboys have some breathing room, the Giants (6-5) need a strong finish to make a fifth straight playoff appearance. A spot in the postseason seemed assured when New York started 5-0 before it lost five of six.
Making matters worse was the news over the weekend that Manning has a stress reaction in his right foot. The former Super Bowl MVP developed the injury while dealing with another problem on the bottom of his foot during a win Oct. 4 at Kansas City.
“In the games it doesn’t bother me and I don’t think about it. This is not something I am overly concerned with,” Manning said. “It has been the same for probably the last three to four weeks, it’s nothing new. I can go out and practice and do all I need to do.”
The Cowboys are looking for revenge after the Giants spoiled the first game at their new stadium with a 33-31 win Sept. 20. Manning was spectacular in throwing for 330 yards, two touchdowns and leading New York on a drive for a game-winning field goal as time expired.
Romo had his worst game of the season, completing 13 of 29 passes for 127 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions.
The Cowboys believe Manning rubbed it in by scribbling his name and adding the score, the date and the words “First Win in the New Stadium” on a concrete column in the visitors’ locker room. Linebacker Bradie James hasn’t seen the column, but he’s seen a picture and is convinced it’s real.
“We won’t forget that,” James said. “It just makes for a more intense game.”
New York doesn’t resemble that team at this point, except with its struggling defense. The Giants allowed 378 yards in that contest – 251 on the ground – and have allowed an average of 362.5 yards in their last two games.
The Giants’ defense will be without middle linebacker Antonio Pierce, who was placed on injured reserve with a neck injury. Second-year linebacker Jonathan Goff took snaps with the starters this week.
New York‘s offense – ranked seventh in the NFL – also fared badly in last Thursday’s 26-6 loss at Denver. Manning failed to throw for a touchdown for the first time this season as the Giants had a season-low 267 yards.
Brandon Jacobs rushed for a season-low 27 yards on 11 carries and could be the only healthy running back for the Giants. Backups Ahmad Bradshaw and Danny Ware missed practice Wednesday and coach Tom Coughlin is uncertain about their status for this game.
New York also trails 7-4 Green Bay in the playoff race heading into this critical two-game stretch. The Giants host the Eagles next Sunday, and never envisioned being in this situation.
“We are trying the best we can to get the spirits back up,” Coughlin said. “What happened yesterday is over, and the only thing that you can take care of is in the moment.”
Romo has won both career starts at Giants Stadium as Dallas heads into a difficult closing stretch in which four of its last five opponents have winning records. The Cowboys won 24-7 over Oakland last Thursday after scoring a total of 14 points in their previous two games.
“This team needs to win,” James said. “We’re in a good position. We’re No. 1 in our division and the only way we can stay No. 1 is we have to beat the teams in our division. … That’s it. No excuses.”

Exercise Keeps The Brains Of Texans Fit As They Age
Your brain is like a muscle. That’s right. Now you’ve got something else that needs to be exercised. And no matter whether you’re a young or old individual who lives in Dallas, Houston or elsewhere in Texas, you should exercise your brain daily.
Researchers have found that one of the reasons people easily forget things is because they memorize too many unimportant things. So keeping mentally fit increases the chances of staying mentally fit as you get older.
Experts believe the degeneration process begins at the age of 40. People only begin to notice, once they hit retirement age, that there’s a mental slow down due to the lack of using concentration and memory skills.
Research has shown that memory can be bolstered by performing simple exercises, such as naming famous people whose first names begin with the letter “Z.” Other research has shown that people remember better through sound, rhyme and picture associations.
In addition, individuals can also learn by repeating material frequently and will excel if the material is well structured in a quiet environment. Also, breaks in daily routines, such as taking on a new hobby or activity, have shown to be beneficial in keeping the brain active.
Getting a good physical workout can also contribute to mental fitness, as a recent preliminary study showed that exercise may boost a person’s brainpower.
In the study, the researchers measured the thinking ability of 20 men and women, aged 18 to 24, after 30 minutes of moderately heavy to heavy running on a treadmill. Once the individuals’ heart rates had returned to resting levels, they were wired up to an electroencephalogram (EEG), which measures brain waves.
Participants then took two computer tests, one more difficult than the other. These results were compared with results from tests the participants took without exercising beforehand. EEG results showed that exercising increased the speed of the decision-making process.
In particular, brain activity kicked in 35 milliseconds faster after exercise, compared with when study participants did not exercise. Although that may sound like a tiny amount of time, it is actually quite significant. In addition, the respondents answered more accurately after exercise than they did when they had not exercised.
If these findings are true, they can be added to a growing body of research on the beneficial effects of even short periods of activity. One study recently found that ten minutes of moderate exercise daily could improve mood and reduce fatigue.
Another reported that stair climbing for 2 minutes several times a day could lower total cholesterol, raise HDL (good) cholesterol and improve the resting pulse rate in sedentary young women.
The Alzheimer’s Association recommends the following to keep your brain young and healthy:
- Stay curious and involved, commit to lifelong learning.
- Read, write, and do crossword puzzles.
- Attend lectures and plays, or take courses at local colleges or community centers.
Be social:
- Stay active in the workplace.
- Join social groups like bridge clubs or square dancing.
- Travel.
Eat smart:
- Certain foods like kale, spinach, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, corn, and eggplant are high in antioxidants and can reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.
- Cold-water fish, such as halibut, mackerel, salmon, trout, and tuna are rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
- Almonds, pecans, and walnuts are a good source of Vitamin-E, an antioxidant.
Stay in shape:
- Physical exercise maintains good blood flow to the brain and reduces the risk of heart attack, stroke, and diabetes, which are risk factors for Alzheimer’s.
How you treat your body when you’re young will certainly affect your health when you get older. Eventually, it will also affect your wallet.

The True Meaning Of Heart
When we consider the notion of heart this Valentine’s day, it is easy, in our world where commodity is valued over humanity, to be too small in our hearts, falling into the illusion that our entire live is a cast like a shadow against a cave wall. Heart has become a pump for which we need take daily doses of (some cholesterol drug); its rhythm, our very beat, reduced to jagged lines on a computer screen. Blood and its circular venal passage, becomes just a mechanical process. Repairing the heart connotes anesthetic and surgeon’s scalpel.
Yet the great twelfth century mystic, Iben Arabi, believed that the power of the heart is something entirely different, which he called, himma. Himma is, “the act of meditating, conceiving, imagining, projecting, ardently desiring-in other words, of having (something) present… which it vial force, soul, heart, intention, thought, desire.” (Corbin p. 222.)
Arabi liberates us from the deadening notion that all that exists is the wonton chaos of irrational dreams. In the heart, with himma, the we can begin to extract ourselves from the illusion that the heart’s desire is subjective, merely personal. No, we do not have the heart of a tiny creature living a life of storms in tea cups. Instead, the heart’s longing, the sacred images, are imaginably real instead of subjectively real.
Never betray the mystery message from your heart. Images have numinousity and luminosity. They express our greatest power: our creative imagination that connects our heart with the beat of the universe, enabling to have the passion to do good work that life demands-work on ourselves through which we become fully human, and work in the world-both of which are necessary to manifest the Kingdom. Through this divine power of the heart, we can create something outside of ourselves, worthy of the gift of breath.
Naturally the mind may be impatient with the way of the heart. It believes it rules; it confusion the notion of rationality with the ecstasy of openings into spaciousness in the heart that come from grace, initiation, all of which are beyond our control. The heart has its own gates through which one must pass in order to reside in its infinite sea.
One wants experience himma, but finds instead that the need is for purification. The path of the heart requires a diving into transgressions, a breaking down of walls that were constructed to obscure protect oneself, when one’s heart was weak, from the true tragic nature of one’s humanity. At certain stages, to know one’s heart, one must face the victim and apologize. One can find oneself lying low to the Earth and listening, perhaps to its secret heart beat in order to find, once again, the natural rhythm of one’s own heart.
The process has its own time. A moment in the fury of the heart can stretch before and seem like infinity, or it can pass illusively an image from a dream upon waking. It is easy to want to bypass the dark nights for the Apollonian delights of intellectual conversation accompanied by harp music. It is also common for some to cut through the process through drugs, just to survive to live another day. Yet, in doing trying to control the heart we shortchange the heart and our own journey which can, if traveled well, enlarge us like the widening circles of a hawk.
We move through life but life also moves through us. We can use the heart to see our own individual story as part of a greater story. We do know own the images: they are numinous, archetypal and have existed in myth, lore and dreams for tens of thousands of years. James Hillman pointed out in one of his books that the gods are wounded; therefore, the wounds are divine.
A pure heart flows out like a waterfall. It can feel like having an ocean inside of you. Or it can feel like fire. Consuming, enraged, the heart of anger or the heart of love. The minstrels of today, our pop culture, sings of the ardent heart longing for the beloved. The favorite theme of mystics is pathos for The Beloved-separation being as sweet as unity-on the journey home. Sex In The City or the Chants of Benedictine monks: life is a tavern and you get to choose your wine.
We also have the Heart of the Lion. Regal, radiant, magnanimous, it shines light on all things, like a sun; and does not think, but believes. (Hillman p. 6) It roars because it knows what it is. I am that I am. This is the heart of courage, which to me is the most important qualities of the heart, particularly in committed relationship Marriage is a kind of alchemical flask, supported by community and commitment, through which the transformation of the heart can take place-but only if one has the courage to go to places that one most deeply fears.
Finally, there is the heart of beauty. Many years ago, a mentor suggested I contemplate a flower to bring their beauty into my heart. This was a time in my life close to my embattled teenage years, when my heart was closed down. Over time, I began to notice my how my heart became more sensitive and awake to beauty in the world. Seeing the beauty through my heart helped me to heal and transformed how I envisioned the soul of the world.
So I offer to you these humble words from my limited experience. As you celebrate love on Valentine’s day with romantic dalliance, candles, perhaps crab cakes and a fine Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand (and hopefully a new piece of our jewelry), consider the deeper mystery of the heart, and movement of all things. Love is youthful and eternal. We can celebrate that. Cupid never grows up, that love is the glue that holds the universe together and the heart is its organ of perception. Honor the divinity of your own journey, which is part of a greater journey in the web of life through which we are all connected. And may your heart be blessed with peaceful coexistence with all that is.

Award Maker Winning Fans
When NASCAR Truck Series driver Dennis Setzer won the Ohio 250 in May, the trophy next to him represented not only his win but also a milestone for Trophy Awards Manufacturing Inc., the company that designed and built the award.
The race was delayed by rain for several hours, and victory-lane celebrations weren’t broadcast, but “it was still an exciting project for our staff to develop an award seen in the national spotlight,” said Thomas Busch, the firm’s president.
The company also got some great feedback from its client.
“I have worked in the motor sports field for the past 12 years, and this is the best trophy I have ever seen,” said Bill Conn, general manager of operations for Mansfield Motorsports Park, which hosted the Ohio 250 on May 26.
The company wasn’t getting such good reviews when Busch’s parents – Bob and Nancy Busch- bought the firm in 1984.
“The company had a bad reputation with its customers and its vendors,” said Busch. “Mom and Dad changed that quickly by running a company that….provides an exceptional value.”
At that time, the company had just one other employee and annual sales under $100,000. In 2000, Busch, his sister Jennifer and her husband, Jason Bumgartner, bought the controlling interest in the company. Now with 25 employees, their projected 2007 revenue is $3 million.
“My in-laws established a good reputation for 15 years, and then young blood took over,” said Bumgartner, whose background is in computer design. “I was able to bring some product innovation and new ways of doing things.”
At the same time, the firm brought in Randy Corbitt to head up sales.
“He was a major impact on marketing and sales and getting the word out there, “ says Bumgartner.
Like the bulk of their business – local schools and youth leagues – the firm’s high-profile business comes from word-of-mouth marketing.
Trophy Awards manufactured some awards for the Bengals that led to other NFL work.
“When Emmitt Smith broke the all-time rushing record, someone who then worked for the Cowboys remembered what we did for the Bengals” said Busch. “They called the Bengals and asked them who they used. Before long, Trophy Awards was creating plaques for the Dallas Cowboys coaches, linemen and Emmitt Smith.”
Mansfield Motorsports, however, discovered them on the Internet.
“I told them I had no clue what I wanted, and as we talked we came up with a sketch and faxed it to him, and his team ran with the ideas,” said Conn.
“We had to use material that could be custom-fabricated in a short amount of time,” said Busch. “So the base, riser and Ohio shape are solid North American walnut. They were cut, stained, and assembled in about three days. Then we had the Mansfield logo (routed and cut) out of colored acrylics and stacked to give a 3-D effect. The bottom place is a laser-engraved plate that we curved and attached to the base.”
Conn said the company’s speed and design paid off.
“When NASCAR officials arrived, we showed them the trophies, and they wanted to show everyone at the drivers’ meeting what they were competing for,” the track official said. “This has never been done before at a NASCAR race.”

Online Sportsbook wizards Switzer Vs. Stoops – Who’s Your Pick!
The Online Sportsbook world was able to find some success for those people who picked Barry Switzer’s Oklahoma Sooners teams during the 1980′s. Switzer would also have success in the Online Sportsbook world with the Dallas Cowboys as their head coach. If an Online Sportsbook were to take bets on which former Oklahoma sports star would do the best within Oklahoma politics chances are that Barry Switzer may do better than two actual politicians who played for him. The Online Sportsbook world knows about former Sooner and Seattle Seahawks receiver Steve Largent. The Online Sportsbook world is also familiar with former Oklahoma quarterback J.C. Watts. Watts and Largent were both successful Congressmen in the state of Oklahoma, but Barry Switzer reportedly almost carried a Presidential primary single handedly based on his endorsement of a candidate. Switzer probably wouldn’t be that well known amongst young bet makers in the Online Sportsbook world unless they are paying attention to Coors commercials that Switzer has appeared in.
Switzer sometimes appears on FoxSports as an analyst for college football. His analysis would be helpful to those in the Online Sportsbook world as long as they don’t feel that Switzer is being too bias. Bob Stoops is quite popular amongst a lot of Oklahoma Sooners fans, but it is doubtful to many in the Online Sportsbook world that he will ever reach the same level of popularity as Barry Switzer. Switzer has also written several books and had his commentary on football and life included in books as well. Switzer’s father was actually a bootlegger.
Part of the reason why Stoops may not reach the same level of popularity is because he has so many ties to other universities. Of course people who are knowledgeable about the Online Sportsbook world would know that Barry Switzer played college football at the University of Arkansas and was good friends with Jerry Jones during that time period.
Jason Taylor writes reviews on various sports betting website. In this piece of write up he highlights one of the upcoming online sportsbook named betonline.com that proves handy for guys who want information on sports betting.

It is important to note that like any market, the market for homes and the entire business of home mortgages is always in a state of flux. Interest rates in Texas therefore will depend on various financial market situations like bond prices. In recent months however, Texas has enjoyed a healthy market for houses. There is also news of stiffening competition among the various lenders across the state. This can only mean good news for Texas homeowners looking for great refinance deals. It is best however to check the situation yourself.
If the interest rates have dropped lower than your original rate, then it is time for a Texas mortgage refinance. If you began with an adjustable mortgage rate then it is about time to transfer to a fixed rate mortgage with the decrease in interest rates.
Kinds of Texas Mortgage Refinance Schemes
Like in other states, Texas mortgage refinance options also include fixing your rate. You should switch from an adjustable rate to a fixed rate as soon as the interest rates drop at least 1% below your original rate. This will at least let you lock on an affordable interest rate that may increase along with improvements in the Texas housing market.
In Texas, there is also a Texas mortgage refinance scheme called cash out refinance. In this plan, you can refinance for more than your original debt at a lower interest rate. You can get the monetary difference between the two debt figures to pay for other expenses.
Debt consolidation is also another option. Refinance through debt consolidation to make all your debt payments more manageable and eligible for a tax deduction. You can also use the money from your debt consolidation refinance to pay for your expenses.
